Sushi & Sake Sail II

Yesterday I went to one of the Sushi & Sake Sail events, which is part of the Black Ships Festival in Rhode Island. It was my first time in Newport, but my 3rd time in RI, I think.

We left around 10:30AM and got there by noon or so, and had a lot of time to kill so we just walked around. It was sort of like an outdoor plaza where we were. I think it was downtown, but I'm not sure.

Anyways, the boat we were on is called the Aurora. Tbh, I was expecting like a cruise ship of some sort, so I was a bit disappointed.
It was super hot waiting for the boat to set sail, but once it did it, the weather felt perfect.
We also expected like a sushi buffet but this was all we got... the guy gave us another box to share though because there was extras ^^

Anyways for $35 I don't think it was really that worth it, but it was a good experience. Maybe one of those just to have tried sort of things, but if I had to choose again, I might not do it because I'm already sper broke as it is D:
Before we left, we wanted lobster!! So I looked up a place called Easton's Beach Snack Bar since it had good reviews on Yelp. It was difficult finding parking. Not really, but we just didn't know if we were allowed to or not. But yesss I got my lobster!! It was only $11.57+tax=$12.50. It was kind of small though but for the price I can't complain.
Anyways ending the post with an obligatory selfie

Good Morning

Holy crap today I woke up at 10:24...at night. New record I guess @_@ Or maybe I've woken up that late before. I was thinking 6:00PM was my latest, so maybe.

Scratches and Scars

Lately I've been scratching myself a lot, probably in my sleep. My nails are a bit sharp on the edges, so I guess that's why I've been leaving scratches. Looks like a cat scratched me or something. I hope they don't scar though. I have one near my stomach and on my thigh from like a month and it looks like a scar is going to be left, but hopefully it'll fade with time. Recently, I left a few on my calf and my arm near my shoulder fml.

Summer is drawing to an end, but I haven't really done anything exciting yet. I went to New York the other day because of my brother, but it was only a few hours' stay. I'm planning on going at the end of the month again.

Normal while it lasted

As many of you may know my sleep schedule is kind of in another time zone basically. But after returning from Maine, so maybe for the past two or so weeks, I've been sleeping like a normal person. I generally went to bed by 9:30PM, which is still early I guess but that's as normal as I can get, and I woke up around 7:00AM-9:00AM. So for once I actually had the whole day to myself.

But two days ago I stayed up until 1:00AM and I guess that triggered my sleeping late again and last night I went to bed at like 5:00AM fml :( I woke up at 4:45PM today fml again. So it was nice while it lasted.

Independence Day 2013; Fireworks && Nails

Hope everyone had a good fourth last week :) I didn't go watch the fireworks last year, though I did see it on my way to a friend's house. This year some friends and I decided to go to a cookout and watch the fireworks from there because it's right by where it's set off.

It was SO hot out that day though. I think mid-90s or something. I was sweating like a pig by the time I got to the train station.

It was a night well spent catching up with friends I haven't seen in a while. We actually went up too late so there was no more food :(

Here are some firework photos. My phone died right before the finale though sigh. That's what happens when you forget to charge your phone :\

Last, but not least, the nails I did right before heading out.
Jordana Sequins over Milani Breezy
The glitter looks kinda empty, I was thinking I should've layered CG's Ruby Pumps under it :\

Anyways, until next time!

Maybelline Blue Marks the Spot // China Glaze Electric Beat

I was at Target the other day and saw a display with Maybelline's new Polka Dot collection. I picked up Blue Marks the Spot for $2.99 and tried it when I got home. It seemed kind of sheer and I didn't want too much glitter so I used a similar base color. Electric Beat is from last spring's Electropop collection.
Blue Marks the Spot (2 coats) over Electric Beat (2 coats) +topcoat
Bottle shot of Blue Marks the Spot

Blue Marks the Spot was easy to apply and wasn't sparse. Maybelline also has just the glitter one called Clearly Spotted and I'd rather get that (didn't see it at Target) because it's more versatile to layer over any base color.

L'Occitane Angelica Toner

I actually got this a while ago but never got to use it until recently because mine finally ran out. Hope it's not expired oh well. -_-

Anyways, I went to try it out like a year ago and I'm pretty sure I didn't quite like it then, and who knows why I decided to get it anyways. Probably because it was their new line and I wanted it because of that. -_-
It has a very fresh sorta scent. It doesn't smell nice, but not bad either. Like a neutral scent, reminds me of aloe for some reason. I probably don't even know what aloe smells like. Maybe just because they're both green and plants.

According to the site: "This alcohol-free Angelica Face Toner, enriched with angelica essential oil and water, moisturizes, refreshes and rids the skin of impurities. After use, skin is soft, radiant and ready to absorb all the benefits of your daily skin care regimen. Suitable for all skin types."

But anyways, I'm not really a big fan of it. After applying it, it makes my skin feel super sticky. I'm not sure if it's just because it's the summer so I'm more oily. I have normal skin, not oily. Or maybe I tend to be more oily in the summer and I just forget every year wtf. Anyways, I'm pretty sure I had this same problem the first time I tried it last year. I feel like it doesn't absorb completely and just leaves my skin sticky. I had this same problem with this Sephora toner I bought (I ended up tossing it because it was probably expired but I used it anyways WTF)

It costs $22 for 200mL/6.7 fl. oz. I think that's expensive? I dunno how much toner normally cost. Do they even sell them in drugstores?? -_- It's cheaper than the Shiseido one I normally use though which is $24.50 for 150mL/5 fl. oz.

Maybe I'll save a bit for the fall and see if it's still making my skin sticky (which I'm sure it will) so then it won't have the summer as an excuse.

Btw, here's the back label with all the info and ingredients blah blah blah

Need a haircut

As the title suggests.. I need a haircut soon. I was planning on getting one back in January or February but it never happened. So my hair has been growing and the longest layer is right above my butt now.

But I have no idea how much to cut it. I feel like I need to cut it a lot just to get most of the dead/dry ends out. At the same time, I feel like anything is too much and it'll be short. Also don't know how I want it styled. I was thinking just a straight cut on the bottom, but I don't think it looks that good on me. I don't want layers because when I braid my hair it sticks out everywhere.

Also I feel like I haven't been styling my hair as much as I should, considering that long hair gives so much option to do that. But heat = killer for my hair.

Hm..

Mobile Data Overages

This year I've been very unlucky with my data plan T_T I don't have unlimited and only have 200MB per month. I usually survive with just minimal usage and the bill is already super high so I never upgraded to a more abundant plan because it's not a necessity. The first time I went over was probably last year I went the day before the new cycle WTF. So mad.

But recently (last three months) I've been going over every month.
April went over.. I didn't realize my wifi disconnected and I updated an app and BAM 10 seconds later I got a text saying I went over.
May went over again... I was looking at shoes and spamming a friend with photos and then I realized that the photos were being sent via iMessage so after I got home I got the text saying I went over. -face palm-
June went over again. I woke up this morning and found this!! I don't know how it happened :( Maybe because I was on Instagram yesterday morning after I woke up and didn't realize my wifi disconnected. But I turned data off immediately after I realized!! But still got this like a day later ugh.

The thing is, my mom called me out for it two days ago. She was talking to my aunt about how I'm unwilling to switch over to T-Mobile because after my brother closes his line it'll just be a single line (me) and then said that I even went ahead and upgraded my data plan for an extra $15 without her approval. But I told her I didn't, and it was overages!! And she's like wtf why so many!! It was only two though! But now another one this month oops -_-

Btw in case you're wondering why I'm not upgrading my data plan even though it seems to be a better deal (considering I'm technically paying $30 for 400MB ($15 for the overage) instead of $30 for 3GB.) I think so too but like I said it's not a necessity and once I turn I can't turn back! They changed the smallest plan to $20 for 300MB now (which I probably should change to so I don't get overages hmm.) Anyways!!

Originally I promised myself that if I did well in the Spring semester, I would reward myself with the 3GB data plan. But I did terribly last semester. Fml. Quite shameful, so I'm against upgrading cuz I don't think I deserve it. Maybe next semester if I actually do well, but that's still half a year away.

In the meantime, I'm still trying to avoid switching over to T-Mobile. I'm still on contract btw, but my mom says it's worth it to just pay the fees. I feel that their service sucks because everywhere I go where my T-Mobile friends have no signal, I have signal in LTE!! So fyl. But fml if I have to switch. Plus I'm not too sure how good the reception is for iPhone, like data-wise. I have this belief that their LTE (or even 4G) for iPhone is that stable, so I'm hesitant about that too. I don't know for sure though. -shrugs-

Anyways, the struggle lives on. First world problems, I know.
